In Limone pleople dedicate themselves to a number of activities, both in winter and in summer. In winter skiing and snowboarding are the most popularly chosen sports. There is also an open-air iceskating rink. In summer the preferred activities are hiking, trekking, mountain biking... just to name a few.
The town of Limone itself is a typical Italian town, with shops and cafes, supermarkets and bakeries (...mmm that lovely focaccia and pizza!)
A couple of discos will entertain the dance-loving and younger guests...
For people who would like to explore the surroundings there are loads of possibilities, one of which being an excursion to the French Riviera (Cote d'Azur), not more than a 100 km away, and reachable over the Tenda (Tende in French) pass, a tortuous valley and its river down to the sea.
A trip to Tende, just across the border, is a lovely alternative for a lazy afternoon.
Visits to the Fort at Colle di Tenda is also one of the preferred destinations for day trips, both in winter and in summer . On clear days it is not unusual to get a magnificent view of the Mediterranean Sea, like a golden plateau at the feet of the mountains, at the horizon!
Last but not least, Cuneo is not more than half an hour away by car, and a lovely city halfway between the Po plane and the mountains - good for shopping. (It is also said that people who want to commit suicide seem to love the idea of throwing themselves off the bridge - bbbrrrr!!!)
